Day Three

[actually this is still part of day 2, but it's a different event with a different outfit, so I'll split them up :)]

The objective: Wear something totally cute, and a bit formal, but not TOO formal, to a college a cappella concert-all male, all adorable, all with voices of angels...    (here's the link to their website, btw, if you're ever on the Vineyard in the summer, definitely see them! http://vineyardsound.org/)

Here's what I ended up putting together:

I am wearing my all time favorite crop top from H&M.  I can't figure out their online store to get a link, but it's amazing and I love it, except I got a little acrylic paint on it from art class, but it's not really that noticable, so thats awesome(:
The shorts are DIY!  My best friend in the whole entire world made them for me from a pair of old lady shorts she found at a thrift store/salvation army.  I adore them-they are perfect with any and all crop top <3

For accessories, I'm wearing an owl necklace that my mom got me for my birthday (I love it, I wear it with EVERYTHING) I'm not sure what store it's from, but you can buy a similar one from anywhere, ex. this one from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/White-Gold-Black-Eyed-Necklace/dp/B00347RDLU
On my fingers I'm wearing two H&M rings on each middle finger (yes the teal one is the same as day 2, just in a different color)
On my right wrist I'm wearing a leather beaded bracelet, made by African women for charity, a leather braided bracelet from H&M, and a black lace bangle from Wet Seal.
Accessory Spotlight:
I just let my hair go au naturale, then put some red lipstick on (using my finger so it wouldn't be too harsh), and then layered lip balm on top to make my lips really stand out (this is a singing show, after all)!

The show was absolutely wonderful, and the boys are adorable and so talented!

Day Two

Day Two begins with me going to the supermarket for food to bake for my sister's surprise birthday party, but first picking my sister up at her gymnastics, where a cute guy who I hadn't seen for a year was... turned out he's in the military now, so I won't get to see him :'(  But I still looked cute!

I'm wearing a pink athletic jacket from Forever 21 (They don't sell it now because it's not in season-spring-but I'm sure they'll have ones like it later in the year) I don't remember it being that expensive, maybe $25.  It's light, so it's perfect for the fall, spring, and summer, and I wear it all the time!
Here's a link to a similar (actually CUTER!) one: http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=FOREVER21&category%5Fname=outwr%5Fathletic&product%5Fid=2064786360&Page=1#
And may I mention that the model of the jacket is one of my favorite commercial models-Nicole Linkletter? She's so adorable
Everything else I am wearing is from LoveCulture.
The shirt isn't being sold anymore, but here's a similar one that I like! http://www.loveculture.com/Item/ItemDetailView.aspx?StyleId=1035883  It's only $16!
The shorts are also from LoveCulture, and I am wearing a dark purple tank, because the crop top is short, and also to give the illusion of high-waisted shorts.

In my hair, I did two twists, towards the back of my head, securing them with black clips.  I made the one on the left much longer than the one on the right.

Here's how it looked from the front! :

On my nails, I painted them with OPI Nail Lacquer, dark pink, and then light purple on one middle finger nail and one thumb nail-to make it more summery!

On my left wrist, as all summer, I wear my 5 friendship bracelets that I made! I love them(:

On my right finger I wore one of my H&M rings-I have three in the same color because they were all on sale, only $3! I have this purple [below], a teal, and a white, and I wear them all the time :)

Lastly, I am wearing my favorite long necklace-brass feathers, but I'm not sure from where, possibly PacSun
Here's a link to a cute silver feather necklace from PacSun: http://shop.pacsun.com/Womens/jewelry/Crackled-Stone-Leaf-Necklace/index.pro  It's only $13 :)

Day One

Hi! Welcome to my new blog, 500 Days of Style... After a recent trip to the fashion capital of my world, Paris, I've decided to amp up my style, and to chronicle each day in this blog!

Day 1-Day at the Lake
I still have the chicken pox, so I'm trying to cover up my shoulders (boo:( ), but I managed to wear my new PacSun shirt, so that rocks :)

Clothes

- Hurley Shirt from PacSun: http://shop.pacsun.com/search/hurley/Womens/tees/Out-Loud-Boxy-Tee/index.pro  (it's on sale! and it's SUPER comfy)
- Shorts from Love Culture
-Underneath the shirt, I'm wearing a yellow tank top, also from Love Culture (http://www.loveculture.com/Item/ItemDetailView.aspx?StyleId=1020762 in yellow)

On hands:
Left wrist: 5 homemade friendship bracelets
Right wrist: leather bracelet from Italy and 3 recycled flip flop bracelets
Right middle finger: owl ring

Hair

2 braids in the back to keep it from my face

To do: french braid 2 braids (about 1/2 inch width each) until they reach the middle of the back of your head.  Then, for the top one, I used two black clips to secure in place, and for the bottom one, I banded with a black elastic and mixed in a bit of the non-braided hair from below

Look from the front:

Then, I took inspiration from a photo (below) to add in one more braid to my hair!

How it turned out on me:
To do: I grabbed a 1/4-1/3 inch section of hair near my part and braided it (not french) in the direction I wanted it to go, until it was long enough to be well behind my ear.  Then I added in a bit of my unbraided hair from under my ear to secure the braid, and banded it with a small rubber elastic
It ended up looking like this:
